Melissa, I really hope your Scottish doctor can find additional funding or another way to keep you on. Your deal is so good, so perfect . . . I hope you can keep it and your relationship with her for as long as possible. XO--D
Me too. I've worked myself into the ground trying to prove I'm worthwhile around there, and my boss knows that. The problem is, the U of A is broke, and it's up to the department head whether or not I stay because future funding would come from the department (their pockets) since grants are hard to come by these days. I'll find out more on Monday when I have my two-year evaluation, but I can't help but feel like my job/life is up in the air. I may have to withdraw from the spring semester because if my job ends in the middle of a semester I'll have to repay the full tuition amount. If I lose this job, my chances of finding another university position are slim because they're still on a hiring freeze.
I think that you'll be fine too Melissa, but I understand that it's tough not to worry. Don't withdraw or do anything until you know absolutely....and even then, I'm sure that others have worked through the tuition thing.
